Island Wide.
Puerto Rico’s island biogeography has created endemics that require island-scale migration opportunities as climate shifts push coffee viability higher or entirely novel realms.
Hacienda Masini is seriously committed to island and highland biodiversity, setting aside over 95% of its land for water and soil quality, habitat conservation, and connectivity. In support of the Bosque Modelo project, which seeks to connect critical habitats island-wide, the farm has set aside or created habitat corridors in key riparian and ridge areas to strengthen connections.
Over 20 endemic birds have been observed at Hacienda Masini. Passive activities, including birding, trekking, and slow tourism are encouraged and supported for individuals and groups conducting research or leading education. Click on the button below to inquire about opportunities.
Anchoring Yauco’s central highlands, Hacienda Masini provides critical soil conservation and water quality to downstream communities.
